Fellowships and Grants for
Undergraduate and Graduate Students

The Connecticut Space Grant College Consortium, a NASA supported Space
Grant Consortium, consists of Bridgeport University, Central Connecticut State University, Connecticut Colleges of Technology, Eastern Connecticut State University, Fairfield University, Southern Connecticut State University, Trinity College, the Universities of Connecticut,
Connecticut Health Center, Hartford, and New Haven, Wesleyan University and Yale University. The purpose of the Consortium is to encourage
research and education in Space/Aerospace Science and Engineering. The
Consortium will accept applications for the following fellowships and grants
from Undergraduate and Graduate Students. Fellowship and Grant Periods
may be Summer 2010, Academic Year 2009-2010, or Calendar Year, beginning
June 1, 2010.
Student Projects - Any full-time student or group of students of a Consortium college may apply. The purpose of
this grant is to allow students to purchase items needed for projects that
are beyond the normal funds allocated by departments, colleges and universities.
The Consortium expects to award 10 projects. Maximum funding per project is $500.

Undergraduate Fellowships - Any full-time undergraduate student of a Consortium college may apply. Students are expected
to work on research related to space/aerospace science or engineering
under the guidance of a faculty member or a mentor from industry. The Consortium
expects to award 15 undergraduate fellowships of $4,500 each. (NASA restricts fellowships
to U.S. Citizens only.)

Graduate Fellowships - Any full-time graduate student of a Consortium college may apply. Students are expected to work
on research related to space/aerospace science or engineering under the
guidance of a faculty member or a mentor from industry. The Consortium
expects to award 2 graduate fellowships of $20,000 each. (NASA restricts fellowships
to U.S. Citizens only.)

Travel Grants - Students and Faculty of Consortium colleges may apply for travel grants to visit NASA facilities
to use unique facilities or present their NASA related work at professional
meetings. The Consortium expects to award several travel grants. Maximum funding per travel grant is $1,000.

Summer (Full-Time) Internship Grants - Any full-time undergraduate or graduate student of a Consortium college may apply. Students are expected
to work within industry related to space/aerospace science or engineering
under the guidance of a mentor from industry. The Consortium
expects to award 5 internship grants of up to $7,500 each. (NASA restricts grants to U.S. Citizens only.)

Academic Year (Part-Time) Internship Grants - Any full-time undergraduate or graduate student of a Consortium college may apply. Students are expected
to work within industry related to space/aerospace science or engineering
under the guidance of a mentor from industry. The Consortium
expects to award 3 part-time internship grants at $15/hour each. (NASA restricts grants to U.S. Citizens only.)

Senior Design Grants - Any full-time student or group of students of a Consortium college may apply. The purpose of
this grant is to allow students to purchase items needed for senior projects that
are beyond the normal funds allocated by departments, colleges and universities.
The Consortium expects to award 3 senior project grants. Maximum funding per project is $1,600.

Summer 2010 Helicopter Training Workshop Grants - Any full-time undergraduate or graduate student of a Consortium college who meets the minimum eligilility requirements and who is at least 18 years of age may apply. Students will attend a 1 week workshop, August 1 - 6, 2010, in which they will
learn how helicopters operate through a combination of classroom, lab and testing experiences. Students will also network with professionals within the helicopter aerospace industry. The Consortium
expects to admit 20-30 students. (NASA restricts grants to U.S. Citizens only.)

Community College Scholarships - Any full-time matriculated student within the Connecticut Community Colleges' College of Technology having completed 30 college credits, and possessing a minimum GPA of 3.0 may apply. The purpose of this scholarship is to inspire the pursuit of careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The Consortium
expects to award 12 undergraduate fellowships of $500 each. (NASA restricts fellowships
