Samantha Gonzalez
Joining the School of Communication in August 2008 as Academic Support Specialist, Samantha performs a variety of duties. Most students will know her in her role as coordinator of undergraduate student advising and she is the person to see with questions about declaring communication as a major or being assigned an advisor. She also assists students completing a minor in communication with course selection.
Samantha teaches courses including CMM 115 Improving Communication Skills and CMM 110 Introduction to Communication, courses she’s been teaching since 2004 when she was an adjunct faculty member. Her experience conducting professional development training workshops throughout Connecticut is valuable in her training and supervision of the 5 Teaching Interns who assist in CMM 110.
Samantha holds an M.A. in Communication from the University of Hartford and a B.S. in Corporate Communication with a concentration in Spanish from Southern Connecticut State University where she competed with the University’s gymnastics team. Her academic interests include computer-mediated communication and interpersonal communication.
Samantha comes to the School of Communication from Saint Joseph College where she worked as Communications Coordinator for The School for Young Children, creating marketing materials, editing the web site, and managing all internal and external communication. Prior to that position, she served as the Web Site Manager for Hartford Seminary and was responsible for maintaining all aspects of six Seminary-related web sites.

Shelley B. Levy
As an Office Coordinator for the School of Communication, Shelley Levy handles varied tasks, from assisting faculty to ordering supplies to placing textbook orders to coordinating course evaluations. If she had to pick a favorite, it would be helping students. Whether answering questions or assisting a student in locating an instructor or a classroom, Shelley is friendly and caring, wanting everyone to feel welcome when they stop by her office.
Shelley likes planning social events like the annual reception and awards ceremony for seniors majoring in communication, and outside of the University she enjoys cooking and entertaining. She loves to share recipes, decorate her home, and loves dogs, with a special fondness for Bichon Frises. Her office features many pictures of Ozzie, her new Bichon puppy.
Shelley and her husband have been married for 32 years and they have two daughters in their early twenties, so she clearly understands the needs of college students.

Nancy Lilliquist
Nancy Lilliquist is a versatile staff member, whose roles include Office Coordinator and Freshman Dialogue advisor in the School of Communication. As Office Coordinator she handles diverse tasks like scheduling courses and analyzing data, but much of her time is spent working with the budget. A lover of numbers, Nancy is a budget wizard, taking much pleasure in never having to find a red pen for her ledgers. As an advisor in the Freshman Dialogue program, she gets much satisfaction from teaching freshmen how to make it through that first semester and then advising them until they graduate. Ask her and she’ll tell you what she likes most about being part of the School is watching our students grow, improving their communication skills, then learning how to put those skills to work.
For fun outside of her job, Nancy loves basketball games, golfing, reading, yard work, winter (yes, the season!), but most of all, playing with her adorable toddler granddaughters!
