Chime Commands

MDL Chemscape Chime Ver. 2.0 beta Commands

All the Chime commands are accessible from a pop-up menu which can be activated by clicking the right mouse button while pointing at the image of the molecule.

Here are a few examples of what you can do with Chime Ver. 2.0 beta:

1) Start by stopping the rotation of aspirin. (Right click and de-select "Rotate")

2) Display aspirin as a ball & stick model

Select Ball & Stick

You can also display as a spacefill model, sticks or wireframe.

3) Enlarge/Shrink Command

Hold down the Shift key and move your mouse up/down to change the size of the molecule.

4) Move molecule around the screen

Hold down the CTRL key and move to desired location.

5) Display dot surface

Choose Options from the menu, select Dot Surface and Van der Waals Radii.

6) Display electrostatic potential map on the molecule

Choose Select

Choose Display List

Create molecular surface (may take several seconds to load)

To add the electrostatic potential map

First select Options, Display List, Toggle Transparency

Select Options, Display List, Color, Electrostatic potential

Choose either Red/White/Blue or choose Rasmol color scheme
